Eagle Pass Heliskiing announces Greater "Vertical Guarantees".

Starting in the 2008/2009 season, Eagle Pass Heliskiing will offer more guaranteed vertical feet of heliskiing per package than other operators. EPH can boast the acheivement of having very few "down days" due to the inability to fly caused by weather conditions. In the entire 2008 operating season, Eagle Pass encountered only 3 "down days" in which we did not fly. The close proximity of great tree skiing close to the lodge and helicopter base minimizes non fly days, even when it is snowing.

3 day package includes a guarantee of 49,000'  ( 15,000 M)

4 day package includes a guarantee of 65,600'  (20,000 M)

7 day package includes a guarantee of 115,000' (35,000 M)

Also new for the upcoming season, the 7 day ski package now offers a full seven days of skiing.

New cutting edge avalanche safety equipment.

Eagle Pass heliskiing has ordered some newly developed avalanche floatation devices from SnowPulse. These inflatable backpacks are designed for heliskiing and add another dimension to the safety of each and every heliskiing guest.

Expanded heliskiing runs.

During the 2008 season, the guiding team explored and established many new great heliski runs, both alpine bowls and chutes, and tree runs. The number of runs has now doubled to 130. With 270,000 acres of exclusive use terrain and only 12 guests per week, fresh tracks are guaranteed.

Eagle Pass Heli Skiing will again be offering an “Explorational Week”  in the spring season for those seeking the adventure of pioneering virgin terrain, and conquering 1st descents.

The spring of the 08 season saw some adventurous skiers explore the far northern portion of our exclusive area. They pioneered some beautiful north aspect runs with over 3,500' in vertical descent. You can read about their exploits in the upcoming September issue of SKIING Magazine.

The adventure film production company called Teton Gravity Research (TGR) also came to check out the exciting heli-skiing terrain at Eagle Pass. Look for the release of their annual classic movie "Under the Influence" in the fall of 2008.

For those of you looking to do a few days of warm-up skiing prior to coming to Eagle Pass Heliskiing,we recommend that you try the new Revelstoke Mountain Resort. They had some rave reviews for their opening season, and for the 2008/09 season the lifts will give access the greatest vertical in North America!

Every spring-time Eagle Pass Heliskiing will host groups for adventurous skiers and boarders for a week of Explorational skiing. This is your chance to help us open up and pioneer new virgin terrain, and ski where no one has ever laid tracks before. We reserve this time in April for exploring when the snowpack is at its maximum depth, the stability is more predictable, the days are longer, and the chances for fair weather is greater. We will venture further into our vast area of uncharted territory to seek out and name classic new runs. It is an exciting time for guides, pilots and fellow explorers. This is your opportunity to lay claim to first ever tracks and conquer 1st descents.

Skiing and boarding at this time of year allows us to play and linger in the mountains, and seek out the new ‘goods’. When conditions and abilities allow, Eagle Pass Heliskiing adventurers can challenge steep chutes and terrain not normally attempted.

Depending on conditions, Eagle Pass Heliskiing will explore a variety of terrain, from the open bowls and chutes, to glades and steep tree areas. In the spring time conditions, we will also be seeking those shaded north aspect lines where the snow remains dry and deep.

In utilizing the agile AStar helicopter and skiing and riding with only small groups of 4, gives the guide flexibility on the terrain to explore.
