The Small Group Advantage
Our “feels like a private” small group heliskiing experience is part of what makes our guests return year after year. If you have yet to experience the ecstasy of heliskiing in a group of four, here’s what you have to look forward to:
- Being in a small group magnifies your wilderness experience in the mountains. The key is that the guide can more easily gauge the abilities and desires of the group with the best terrain and pace. Desires may change depending on stamina or changing conditions, each day is different!
- Whether you want to slow down and savour the view or the experience, or your quest is to be a glutton for volumes of vertical and untouched tracks, small groups are the way to go.
- With large groups, some experienced heliskiers have encountered competition for first tracks amongst the crowd. With small groups, it’s not a concern. There is enough for everyone with never-ending opportunities for fresh lines.
- In composing the groups for skiing, it is far easier to gather a small group of four with similar skiing likes and abilities than it is with larger unruly groups.
- With the easier communications between guide and skier, the ease of keeping track of skiers improves, as well as the level of safety.
- With small groups, the guide has added flexibility in choosing interesting and varied ski terrain. The opportunity to ski cool terrain features, chutes and gullies becomes more possible.
- In using the small AStar helicopter, the pilot has greater flexibility in the choice of landings and pick-ups. Smaller ridge features and openings in the forest can be utilized to land where larger helicopters would not have the safe operating margins to do so.
- Operations aside, the camaraderie between the guide and among the group itself becomes strongly evident with small groups.
In essence, skiing with Eagle Pass Heliskiing’s small groups results in a more intimate, more enjoyable experience with more fresh tracks.
