I used to ski a lot, but I’m not in the shape I used to be, should I be training for this trip?
Yes, Heliskiing is a demanding physical activity. Heliskiing with Eagle Pass is a fast paced day that challenges seasoned skiers in good shape. You aren’t just skiing out there, you are in and out of the heli many times, and you will need to get your equipment on in deep snow. If you fall down it can be tough to get back to your feet, and if you loose a ski, pole or other piece of equipment, you can be digging for quite some time. A regular fitness routine with plenty of cardio and leg strengthening is a good start to Heliski fitness - you can never be in too good of shape!
Will we be Skiing in the Alpine?
Heliskiing is a weather dependent activity and safety is number 1. Our tenure supports great heliskiing in most conditions, we do however need to get there. We always do our best to provide the best skiing possible on any given day. We love shred the alpine when we can, but the tree skiing is fantastic as well!
Do I need to bring a lunch?
We provide a delicious gourmet lunch in the mountains, you just need to bring all ski gear!
I have Dietary Restrictions, will I need to bring my own lunch?
Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered, but you need to let us know before hand. Please make your dietary restrictions clear on the ‘Dietary Restrictions’ section of your Registration Form. Please note your restriction as a preference or allergy, and how serious the allergy is.
If it’s a serious restriction, please email us so we can make a special note on your reservation.
I’ve got a drone, can I use it?
No, you can’t. Drones and Helicopters don’t mix well.
Will there be a Photographer?
There will not be photographer services available on your Heliski days. You can ask your guide to take some photos, and if it’s safe to do so, they will gladly arrange this.
Do you have Eagle Pass Heliski outerwear & souvenirs?
Yes we do. We have a wide selection of outerwear, casual wear, and accessories at our 3 locations, if we don’t have a specific size or colour displayed, let us know what you want and we will track it down for you.
I Ski and Snowboard, can I bring both?
You will only be able to bring one setup for your Heliday. As you share the Helicopter with 2 other groups, you are unable to leave anything in the helicopter between runs because space is limited.
I need cell reception all the time, will I be able to stay connected?
All phones are to be switched to Airplane Mode before you leave for the day, as they have been found to cause interference with communications and avalanche beacons. The same applies to WiFi Go-Pros and Bluetooth enabled devices, please keep the transmitting devices to a minimum, for your safety.
