JP started teaching skiing at 15 years of age and has worked the ski industry every winter since. You could say he is a pretty big fan of snow. He certified and worked as a snowboard and telemark instructor before moving toward the avalanche and guiding sector. He’s most well known for his bad jokes and terrible technique. So rest assured if his jokes don’t make you laugh, his skiing will! His greatest joy is sharing his passion with his friends and guests.
“Having skied so many of the different ranges in BC and Alberta Im proud to have made Revelstoke my home. Revelstoke is home to the Monashees and the Monashees are by far my favourite mountain range for skiing. Sweet pillow lines, belted cliff bands and creamy alpine all covered with an epically deep snowpack.”
In the summers he is a mountain safety specialist and rope rigger for a mountain construction company, working on such projects as Whistler Peak Suspension Bridge and a variety of Remote Avalanche Control Systems.
For the past 12 years he has spent the month of November in Churchill Manitoba guiding polar bear excursions at the helm of Buggy 13, a huge truck with 40 seats and a viewing platform.
