It is essential that each guest familiarize themselves with the terms and conditions and the information on our website.  By submitting an electronic waiver, registration form, deposit, or payment, you agree to be legally bound by the terms and conditions below:

In this document, “Heliski” or “Heliskiing” includes heli snowboarding, heli telemark skiing, heli “noboarding”, and heli access ski and snowboard touring.

1. Provider

Eagle Pass Heliskiing Ltd. (EPH, “we” and “us”) is the provider of all Heliskiing, packages, and services described in our marketing materials and in your booking confirmation.

2. Programs

EPH offers three Heliskiing programs:

A.  Day Heli Program – Our Day Heli Program is based on “runs skied” and includes up to 8 runs at the price set out in your booking confirmation and lunch in the mountains. Only lunch on your ski day is included. You are responsible for all other meals and accommodation while in Revelstoke. We will make best efforts to provide at least 6 runs per day.  If we do not, refunds will be issued in accordance with the policies below.  This package may be booked for any size throughout the season however, to guarantee consistent skiing abilities within your group we highly recommend booking as a complete group of 4.  Our additional 3 run package may be purchased when conditions and logistics allow, but only to complete groups of 4 guests.

B.  Lodge Based Program - Our lodge Based Program includes private accommodations at our lodge, all meals, and unlimited Heliskiing. We will make best efforts to provide a full day of Heliskiing on each day set out in your booking confirmation.  Weather, conditions, and available daylight all play a major role in defining a full day of Heliskiing on any given day.  Operating hours are defined at the sole discretion of EPH.  We guarantee an average of at least 3,000 vertical meters of skiing per day booked over the duration of your trip.  If you do not achieve that average, refunds will be issued in accordance with the policies below.  This package may only be booked in complete groups of 4 for all peak season dates.

C.  Unlimited Private Program – Our Unlimited Program includes the private charter of a helicopter, unlimited Heliskiing, and lunch in the mountains.   You are responsible for all other meals and accommodation while in Revelstoke.  If you make an Unlimited Private heliskiing reservation, you are chartering a single private helicopter for the days set out in your booking confirmation to be used for standard Heliski operations with your group(s).  We will provide guides in the following rations:

We will make best efforts to provide a full day of unlimited Heliskiing on each day set out in your booking confirmation.  Weather, conditions, and available daylight all play a major role in defining a full day of Heliskiing on any given day.  Operating hours are defined at the sole discretion of EPH.   We guarantee an average of 3,000 vertical meters of skiing per day booked over the duration of your trip.  If we do not achieve that average, refunds will be issues in accordance with the policies below.  If you have more than 3 guests in your group, an additional support aircraft will be supplied to be used only at the start and end of each day to expedite transferring groups to and from the field.  Although Heliskiing is unlimited in this program, any helicopter usage deemed by EPH to be unrelated to typical Heliski operations (such as sightseeing or switching guests’ mid-day) will result in extra charges at a fixed hourly rate of $7,830/hour (calculated in six-minute intervals), plus applicable taxes.

3. Guest Responsibilities 

You are solely responsible for each trip booked ensuring:

A.  You have fully read and accurately completed an online waiver before submitting any form of payment;

B.  You have fully read and accurately completed our registration form;

C.  You have paid in full for each trip by the first Monday of October;

D.  You have fully read and accurately completed a physical waiver on the first morning of each trip;

E.  You have a valid passport and all required visas to enter Canada;

F.  You are on time and prepared to ski on each day, regardless of the weather or road conditions;

G.  You follow all health and safety policies and procedures communicated by us;

H.  If traveling to Canada, you have arranged and paid for any third-party screening services, or health testing required to successfully enter Canada or return to your home country;

I.  If traveling to Canada, you have received the full series of vaccines required and/or accepted by the Government of Canada for entry into Canada;

J.  You are healthy and not experiencing symptoms of any illness on each Heliski day;

K.  You are able to ski at an advanced level (black diamond runs);

L.  You are experienced skiing ALL types of terrain in DEEP POWDER conditions (knee deep+), including trees, glades, steeps, and variable snow conditions;

M.  You have previous Heliski, Catski, or ski touring experience;

N.  You have purchased additional insurance coverages as you see fit (see below for more details on the limited insurance included with your booking); and

O.  You are physically fit and prepared to ski for a whole day.

If you cannot complete the day because of fitness level or ability, you may be asked to wait in a safe area in the backcountry until lunch is served or for the remainder of the day.  No refund will be provided for missed runs as a result of your lack of fitness or ability.

4. EPH Responsibilities

As part of the price set out in the booking confirmation, we will provide:

A.  Heliskiing in groups of up to 4 guests with no more then 3 groups per helicopter;

B.  Professionally certified Heliski guides;

C.  Single occupancy accommodation for all Lodge Based Programs;

D.  Lunch, snacks and non-alcoholic beverages (all programs) and breakfast, après, and dinner (Lodge Based Program);

E.  Helicopter safety and avalanche training;

F.  Use of an avalanche transceiver, shovel, airbag, personal radio, and probe;

G.  Use of powder skis/snowboard and poles; and

H.  Trip interruption and emergency medical coverage as described in the “insurance” section of these terms and conditions.

5. Registration and Payment

A.  Your booking is not confirmed until a completed online waiver, registration form, and deposit are received from each guest in your group.

B.  At the time of booking, you and each member of your group must sign an electronic waiver, complete a registration form, and pay a deposit equal to 30% of the booking price, plus applicable taxes (the “Deposit”). Except as otherwise provided in these terms, the Deposit is strictly non-refundable once paid.

C.  You must pay any balance owing no later than the first Monday of October. If the guest has given authorization at time of Deposit payment, EPH will charge the balance owing to the previously used payment method without written notice.  Expect as other otherwise provided in these terms, all payments are strictly non-refundable. 

D.  All payments shall be in Canadian dollars (CAD). A 5% Goods and Services Tax (GST) will be applied to each booking and is not included in any listed prices.  An $8 per day Provincial Sales Tax (PST) will be applied to each lodge booking and is not included in any listed prices.  A $3 per day Municipal and Regional District Tax (MRDT) will be applied to each lodge booking and is not included in any listed prices.

E.  We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, bank transfers, cash cheques, and Interact email money transfers (Interact transfers are only available for Canadian guests).

F.  Payment for additional runs (Day Program), and all incidental costs incurred during your trip (Lodge Program and Private Program) including but not limited to liquor/wine/beer, massage services, and retail purchases is due at the end of your trip.

G. Payment for additional runs (Day Program), additional hours (Hobbs Based Private Program), and incidental costs you incur during your booking (liquor/wine/beer and retail purchases) is immediately due and payable at the end of your stay.

H.  EPH’s process for setting prices for our packages is completed over 1 year in advance. If external factors outside of EPH’s control occur within this time frame that effect our major suppliers’ contracts, agreements, or the supplier’s ability to fulfill such contracts (ie: fuel price increases), you agree that EPH may apply a proportionate surcharge to your booking.  EPH will make best efforts to avoid a surcharge from occurring.  EPH will also make efforts to provide as much notice as possible of such surcharges.  Any surcharge would be payable either at our full payment deadline or if this deadline has already passed, at time of notice.

6. Essential steps before Heliskiing

Prior to commencing Heliskiing with us, you will be required to:

A.  Digitally sign an online waiver before paying your deposit and physically sign a waiver on the first morning of your trip to confirm you agree you have given up legal rights, including the right to sue. These two waivers are required for each Heliski trip you attend with EPH;

B.  Attend helicopter, avalanche and mountain safety training sessions, which are included in your package and organized by EPH on the first morning of your trip. If multiple trips are booked in the same season, it is recommended to complete this avalanche and mountain safety training sessions again, but only required on the first morning of your first trip of each season;

C.  Complete any additional documentation as required by us, which may include a health declaration; and

D.  Complete any health or epidemic testing as may be required by government authorities or us, in our sole discretion.

If you fail or refuse to complete any of these steps, your booking will be cancelled, and no refund will be provided.

7. Cancellation by EPH and Refund Policy

A.  Heliskiing is a unique experience that is highly subject to weather and snowpack conditions. These conditions are constantly changing and add an element of complexity to each Heliski day.  We reserve the right to cancel a Heliski day, in part or in whole, for any reason, including weather, avalanche conditions, operational emergencies, mechanical reasons, pandemics, staffing issues, or insufficient guest bookings.

B.  Except as provided in these terms and conditions, EPH will not provide you with a refund or compensation for any expenses related to your booking or trip to Revelstoke, including airfare, car rentals, and accommodation. EPH strongly recommends that you purchase additional trip insurance.

C.  While we make best efforts to ensure each guest has read, agreed, and met our ability requirements, no refunds shall be provided if your group skis at a greater or lesser ability than you. Booking in a group of 4 is required for our Day Heli and Lodge Based Programs for all peak season dates to help ensure consistent ability levels.

D.  All refunds will be completed in Canadian Dollars via your original payment method only. Refunds cannot be applied to incidental costs you incur during your stay (liquor/wine/beer, massage services, and retail purchases).  No adjustments will be made to the refund to account for differences in the exchange rate between the time payment was made and the refund was issued. 

E. Full Cancellation:  EPH reserves the right to cancel your booking for any reason at any time prior to your trip. Please see below for program specific refund policies.

F. Day Heli Program Refund Policy: Our Day Heli program is based on “runs skied”:

i.  If a Heliski day commences and a minimum of 6 runs is not achieved, a refund regardless of time of the season will be issued for the following amount, plus applicable taxes:

ii.  If an additional run package was purchased and EPH was unable to complete this package, a refund of $140 per missed run up to the 3 runs included will be issued, plus applicable taxes.

G. Lodge Based Program Refund Policy: Our Lodge Based Program is based on “vertical skied”:

i.  If EPH cancels a full Heliski day once your trip has commenced, for each day cancelled a refund equal to $1,800 for December program, $2,710 for Peak Season program, and $2,220 for Spring program plus applicable taxes will be issued, and the guaranteed meters for the remainder of the trip will be reduced by 3,000 meters.

ii.  If EPH has a partial down day or cancels a portion of your day throughout the trip, at the end of your scheduled trip the total vertical you have skied will be calculated. If the total vertical skied averages less than 3,000 meters per day, you will be issued a refund at the rate of $550 per 1,000 meter of shortfall (the “Averaging Refund”), plus applicable taxes.

H. Unlimited Private Program Refund Policy:  Our Unlimited Private Program is based on “vertical skied”:

i.  If we cancel a full Heliski day once your trip has commenced, the guaranteed vertical meters will be reduced by 3, 000 meters for each cancelled day. You will remain responsible for paying a one-time Group Administration Fee of $3,000 and Guides Service Fees of $765 per guide attributable to the cancelled day, plus applicable taxes.

ii.  If EPH has a partial down day or cancels a portion of your day throughout the trip, at the end of your scheduled trip, the total vertical you have skied will be calculated. If the total vertical skied averages less than 3,000 meters per day, you will be issued a refund at the following rates per 1,000 meters of shortfall (the “Averaging Refund”), plus applicable taxes.

8.  Guest Cancellation

A.  If you wish to cancel your trip, for any reason, you must notify EPH in writing by email to [email protected]. Trip Cancellation Insurance, which is not included in any package, is highly recommended. Your cancellation is only effective at time we confirm the cancellation in writing to you.

B.  If you cancellation is confirmed prior to the first Monday in October, the Deposit plus applicable taxes shall be forfeited, and any other payment made will be refunded.

C.  If you cancel after the first Monday in October and did not purchase trip cancellation insurance, you are responsible to find a suitable replacement guest for your trip. If you are unable to find a replacement, notify us immediately and EPH will make best efforts to resell your trip on the following terms:

i.  EPH will use reasonable efforts to resell your trip at full price;

ii.  If EPH resells your trip, a refund of the resale value less a $100 per person per day admin fee, plus applicable taxes will be issued;

iii.  No refunds will be issued for any portions of your trip that EPH is unsuccessful in reselling; and

iv.  EPH will not offer to resell any cancelled seats for our Lodge Based Peak Season Program or Private Program. EPH highly recommends additional travel insurance policies to help cover lost funds for these programs. 

D.  Due to our Lodge Based Program  requiring complete groups of four (4) to book during Peak Season, if one member of your group cancels for any reason, EPH will deem the entire group to have cancelled, and our standard cancellation policy will apply.

E.  If at any point during your trip you arrive late, sustain injury, become ill, decide to end your day earlier than other guests or the guide, or are instructed to stop skiing because EPH (in our sole discretion) determines that you are injured, ill, otherwise not physically fit or able, no refund will be provided for your trip even if the run or vertical minimum is not met. In certain situations, trip interruption insurance (only included in the Day Heli and Lodge Based programs) through our provider may help cover lost funds, we make no guarantees to this effect.  Please see “Insurance” section below for more details.

F.  If you do not purchase trip cancellation insurance, and you or EPH cannot find a guest to purchase your seat, EPH reserves the right to fill this seat with a staff member or partner. In such case, no refund will be issued.

G.  EPH may require you to participate in health checks prior to your trip, which may include checking your vaccination status, your temperature and requiring you to sign a legal declaration as to you recent and current state of health. EPH reserves the right to deem you incapable of participation in your trip if, in our sole opinion, you do not pass our health checks.  If EPH deems you incapable of participation, you will be deemed to have cancelled your booking at that time, and our standard cancellation policy will apply.

H.  Your inability to complete your trip due to reasons outside of your control, including but not limited to travel issues, closed borders, and local viral outbreaks, is at your sole risk, and such inability to complete will be deemed a cancellation of your trip and our standard cancellation policy will apply.

I.  In the event of injury while Heliskiing with EPH, a rescue fee of $400 including taxes will be charged to cover expenses incurred.   At time of injury, your seat will be deemed to be cancelled and our standard cancellation policy will apply.  No refunds will be issued for missed runs due to injury. EPH provides limited medical travel insurance as part of your trip. All claims require seeing a physician in Canada in a timely fashion.

9. Insurance

A.  In light of the refund and cancellation policies set out above, Trip Cancellation Insurance is strongly recommended to cover unforeseen circumstances that may lead to cancelling your Heliski trip before departure to Revelstoke. EPH does not provide such insurance, but we encourage you to inquire with our recommended insurance provider.

B.  EPH will provide Limited Trip Interruption Insurance as part of our Day Heli and Lodge Based Programs. Limited Trip Interruption Insurance is not included in Private Programs.  All claims require you to see a physician or present supporting documentation as required.  A copy of the policy wording is available upon request.  Upon opening a claim, your seat is deemed cancelled and our standard cancellation policy will apply. 

C.  EPH will provide Limited Emergency Medical Travel Insurance as part of your package purchase. All claims require you seeing a physician in Canada in a timely manner.  A copy of the policy wording is available upon request.  Upon opening a claim, your seat is deemed cancelled and our standard cancellation policy will apply.

D.  You are solely responsible for all medical evacuation costs. It is EPH policy that all medical evacuees be taken to see a physician, at minimum.

E.  Whether a claim is approved is at the sole discretion of the insurer. EPH makes no guarantees that an insurance claim will be successful or that any funds will be paid.

F.  Should you make an insurance claim related to your trip, your Heliski trip is deemed cancelled and EPH reserve the right to fill this seat with another guest, staff member, or partner. In such case, no refund shall be provided to you.

10. Minors

Minors (under 19 years of age) are welcome to participate in Heliski programs on the following terms:

A.  Minor guests are permitted only as part of a complete group of 4 that includes one legal guardian;

B.  One legal guardian can be accountable for multiple minors within a complete group of 4;

C.  Minors must be at least 12 years old and capable of meeting the ability and fitness levels described in the “3. Guest Responsibility” section; and

D.  The minor(s)’ legal guardian must accompany the minor(s) at all times during Heliski activities.

11. Image Release

You grant us permission to use images of you (including any motion picture or still photographs made by us) for any purposes in connection with promoting EPH and its activities. You understand that your personal information, including images, is being collected pursuant to section 26 of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, R.S.B.C. 1996, c. 165.
